The CPMR (Centre) initiated the Dr. Oku Ampofo National Symposium in 2016, paying homage to its founder. This symposium became an annual event, serving as a platform for knowledge exchange. However, in 2020 and 2021, the symposium had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated restrictions.
In 2019, the planning committee proposed a transformation of the symposium into a two-day scientific conference to accommodate a broader range of scientific presentations. Embracing this suggestion, the Centre’s management decided to elevate the 2022 program to an international scientific conference. Consequently, the conference was named the Centre’s Oku Ampofo Memorial Conference, hence the acronym COAM. This new format aimed to attract global participation and promote scientific discourse.
This conference is a testimony of our commitment as a Centre to gain the highest recognition
