Mampong-Akuapem recognizes the immense contribution of our Founder, Dr. Oku Ampofo not only to the Centre but to the development of traditional medicine in Ghana.
In our bid to immortalize his tremendous contribution, the annual scientific symposium of the Centre was named after him in 2017, just a year after its inception.
The Centre deems it necessary to maintain this honor after the symposium has metamorphosed into a scientific conferenceThe theme for this year’s conference is Medicinal Plant Research: Innovation and Prospects in a Pandemic Era. COVID-19 has ravaged our planet and, on its path, faced the resilience of mankind.

Holding a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from KNUST and a Master of Philosophy in Pharmaceutics (MPhil Pharmaceutics) from KNUST.

Dr. Martey holds a PhD and an MPhil in Pharmacology from University of Otago, New Zealand and Tianjin University of TCM, China and BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Holds Bachelor of Herbal Medicine and PhD clinical Pharmacology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi with an MPhil in Natural Product, Chemistry from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine .
holds PhD. in Traditional Chinese Pharmacy; M.Phil. in Biochemistry from the University of Ghana, Legon and BSc Chemistry from the University of Cape Coast.
Mr. Antwi is the head of the Animal Experimentation Unit of the Pharmacology/Toxicology Department. He holds MPhil in Natural Products Pharmacology (KNUST), MBA in Health Services Administration and BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Ghana.
Miss Susanna Oteng Mintah holds an MPhil in Pharmaceutical Microbiology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
